VisualText 3

Archived — retired product

The Windows-only VisualText IDE (versions 1, 2 and 3) was retired when NLP++ and the NLP Engine went open source in 2018. The installers are no longer distributed, and these versions are unsupported.

Use this instead: the NLP++ Language Extension for VS Code — Windows, macOS and Linux, actively developed. See what’s new in version 3, or get the source at github.com/VisualText.

VisualText 3 (VT3) was the last Windows release of the VisualText IDE. It targeted Windows 10 and introduced a rewritten rule editor that could handle very large files. Earlier Windows releases used VisualText 2.

VT3 shipped as a Windows MSI installer, needed three DLLs supplied separately, and had a known bug where it hung on exit. None of that was ever resolved, because development moved to the VS Code extension instead. The installer, the DLL bundle and the licence-acceptance step described on this page have all been retired.
